LES CÈDRES | A THRIVING RIVERSIDE MUNICIPALITY
Les Cèdres is a primarily agricultural municipality located in a tranquil wooded setting. The town offers its residents a peaceful, charming environment that is also close to all the desirable services and amenities. Thanks to its geographic location and the positive economic conditions in the greater Vaudreuil-Soulanges region, Les Cèdres is destined to occupy a prominent place in regional development.
Les Cèdres is situated on the shores of the St. Lawrence River, between lakes Saint-François and Saint-Louis, in the Presqu’Île sector of Vaudreuil-Soulanges. Residents can navigate the nearby waterways aboard pleasure crafts or take the river shuttle that connects Les Cèdres to the city of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. Furthermore, the Soulanges Canal, a magnificent 23.5-km navigable waterway, runs right through the municipality.
Les Cèdres offers residents access to a whole host of activities and amenities. There are several parks and landscaped green spaces, water play parks, outdoor skating rinks and sports fields. The town is also home to an outdoor recreational centre with cross-country skiing and snowmobiling trails, equestrian trails, tubing slides and more. This is not to mention the magnificent Soulanges bicycle path, a fully paved trail that runs along the Soulanges Canal before meandering through forests and fields.
The town of Les Cèdres also boasts an elementary school, art galleries, a library, a youth centre, and even an airport, where you can take a scenic plane ride, or even learn how to fly.
Furthermore, Les Cèdres is the oldest parish in the Presqu’Île sector of Vaudreuil-Soulanges and the Les Cèdres Heritage Circuit is one of the most interesting and popular historical walking tours in the Montérégie. The tour winds its way past the town’s many heritage buildings, true architectural treasures dating back to the 19th and 20th centuries.
